About Us
'OWLS' is a British based company which was developed by Ms Beverley Hoccom, B.A. (Ed.) Honours, from a long established tutorial business. Ms Hoccom began as the sole tutor before employing four extra tutors to keep up with demand. At present she continues to tutor with 'OWLS', working closely with her colleagues.
At 'OWLS' we pride ourselves on working together as a close knit team to provide the very best tuition possible. All tutors with 'OWLS' follow the same extremely effective teaching technique, the success of which has been reflected in pupils' performance and exam results.
The technique is based upon the teaching of separate skills through easy to follow, step by step processes. When pupils have practised and become confident in these areas, our tutors begin to help the children to use the skills in conjunction with each other, producing polished results.
All our tutors are continuously assessed and regular meetings are held to collect feedback from staff and 'pool' ideas on the teaching of different skills in english. Feedback from parents is equally important to us to ensure that standards remain high.
Ms Hoccom is always available to talk to parents about their children's progress and, although the pupils are appointed a specific tutor, contact between parents, Ms Hoccom and the rest of the team at 'OWLS' is always open.
